Maria Sims is the Information Service Branch (ISB) Lead and the acting ACDO for National
Weather Services (NWS) ACIO.
Including as the Lead ISB Branch, Maria is the Program Manager for both FITARA and CPIC
Programs. Also, she has been the NWS Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) Lead
for over 15 years. Throughout various administrations Maria served in the CIO Offices at the
Department of Energy and the Department of Transportation. Her skills come from a broad
range of duties and positions which included network engineer, program manager, quality
control analyst, help desk management, budget analyst, library science and author.
Maria has her BA from American University, and also MS degrees in Information Technology
and Project Management and Leadership. Maria also holds many certifications some of which
are ITIL-CI, CSM, FAC COR Level 3, PMP, FAC PPM Level 3, Six Sigma Green Belt and
CTBME.
