About me
Mr. Maddock is the first official data manager for NOAA's National Geodetic Survey (NGS), an office within NOAA's National Ocean Service. Shawn joined NGS in December 2023 after 12 years with NOAA's tides and currents office (the Center for Operational Oceanographic Products & Services, or CO-OPS). In CO-OPS, he served as their data and metadata manager. Shawn has been with the Federal Government for nearly 30 years, which includes 10 years in the NOAA Officer Corps. He received his B.S. in marine sciences in 1998 and his B.S. in meteorology in 2000, both from Texas A&M University.
